Wanda Carmical
Assistant Director of Operations

Wanda Carmical has worked in the financial aid profession for more than 28 years. She has worked at four-year public and private and two-year public institutions as well as proprietary schools. As the assistant director of operations at FAS, Wanda will be managing project coordinators and will be working directly with the director to oversee the activities of our Remote Processing Support Services.

She has experience with several educational software systems including SunGard Banner, Georgia Student Finance Commission’s Surfer, ELM, and the U.S. Department of Education’s EDExpress, COD, and NSLDS systems.

Wanda began her career as a college work-study student at Georgia State University. Over the years she has steadily moved up through the ranks, serving as a counselor, assistant director, financial aid director. With SunGard Banner, she served as a financial aid functional consultant. Prior to joining FAS, Wanda served in the capacity of assistant director at Clark Atlanta University.

During her financial career, Wanda has been a member of the Georgia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (GASFAA), the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Association (SASFAA), the Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (FASFAA) and, the National Association of Student Financial Administrators (NASFAA).

She received her Bachelor of Science from Georgia State University.
