Deborah Barbone has over 30 years of experience in financial aid management. As an FAS consultant, she helps educational institutions optimize their financial aid operations.

Deborah has served as interim director of financial aid, performed compliance and file reviews, and provided regulatory oversight at several institutions.

Prior to joining FAS, she was director of student financial aid at North Georgia College & State University. She also served as assistant director of student financial aid at the University of Georgia, state loan manager at Georgia Student Finance Authority, and veterans coordinator at Floyd Junior College.

Deborah is experienced with several financial aid software systems, including SunGard Banner, College Board PowerFAIDS, AmeriCorps, VA Once, U.S. Department of Education COD System, and the NCAA financial aid compliance software, CAi.

Active in state and regional professional associations, Deborah served as president of the Georgia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (GASFAA), new aid officer instructor for the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA), and chair of various financial aid advisory committees. In 2003, she was awarded the distinguished Donald E. Payton Lifetime Achievement Award from GASFAA.

Deborah received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia.
