Consultant Job Description

Financial Aid Services (FAS), a proven leader for 18 years in providing financial aid consulting and staffing solution to colleges and universities nationwide, is recruiting financial aid consultant positions to fill interim management, counseling and processing positions.

Our consultants serve as interim professional staff in college and university financial aid offices. In a consulting capacity, they provide project management, assessments and analyses of all aspects in a financial aid office, guidance to optimize technology use, and direction to respond to audits and reviews. Although relocation is not mandatory, extensive travel is required.

Successful applicants will have:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Title IV programs
  • The ability to work in diverse and complex environments with campus staff at all levels
  • Management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently or as members of administrative teams.
  • A functional knowledge of automated financial aid management systems is required. Proficiency in the use of College Board PowerFaids, SunGard Banner, Oracle PeopleSoft, Datatel Colleague and/or Campus Management CampusVue is highly desirable.
FAS consultants are seasoned financial aid administrators. A bachelor's degree and seven years of financial aid experience are required. Prior experience at the associate director and director levels is a plus. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
