Welcome to the inaugural edition of The FAS Compass. Its purpose is to keep you up-to-date on news and issues related to higher education -- specifically financial aid.
Frankly, I was reluctant to create a newsletter because there are scores of them cluttering my desk. However, so many of our clients requested an electronic newsletter on a quarterly basis that I was surprised. To meet these needs, we created The FAS Compass.
Why did we choose the "Compass" as the name? We want the newsletter to be a helpful tool in charting your course and keeping you from becoming lost in the financial aid maze. Since our audience will include presidents, vice presidents, deans, and directors, The FAS Compass will examine the broader issues concerning higher education and financial aid. It will not be a technical or regulatory newsletter.
Each quarter we will address four topics – a current area of interest, a colleague's success story, a brief update on FAS activity, and, finally a spotlight on one of our staff. (We have outstanding staff and I would like to share their accomplishments with you.)
We are excited about our newsletter and look forward to bringing you a quality, worthwhile publication. As always, we welcome your ideas, comments and feedback. Please feel free to contact me at DGray@FinancialAidServices.Org or call me at (770) 988-9447, ext. 115. Of course, if you do not wish to receive the newsletter, you may "unsubscribe" by clicking the link below. You may also use the "subscribe" link on our website under "Resources" to share The FAS Compass with a friend or colleague.
Thank you for your interest and your friendship.
