Financial Aid Services (FAS), an Atlanta-based management consulting firm that helps colleges and universities optimize their financial aid and student business operations, has appointed Janet Hunter Ph.D. and Nicole Verrett to senior staff positions with the firm. Hunter will oversee FAS’ newest initiative, Student Business Services (SBS). Verrett, formerly Director of Client Relations, will take on an expanded role as Vice President of Client Relations and Marketing.

Hunter has served FAS in several capacities. Her background as a campus administrator and vast understanding of the regulatory landscape makes her ideal to lead the SBS team, which supports business offices. Hunter’s work as an executive consultant with FAS has included helping institutions restore administrative capability in multiple student services areas. She also led a project to provide a district wide assessment of one of the largest community college systems in the country.

Verrett brings the unique experience of working on college campuses as well as for a major financial institution’s education finance division. Since joining FAS, she has broadened its marketing presence at the national level and overseen several key projects, most notably the relaunch of FAS’ award-winning website.

“As we approach three decades in higher education, I cannot think of two more fitting people to serve in these roles and help us continue to grow and thrive." said FAS President David Gray. “All of us at FAS are excited that Janet and Nicole have accepted these new challenges, and I look forward to working closely with them.”

After working with FAS, we went from being a rudderless ship to one with extremely competent management, cutting edge technology and professional operating standards."
