Jane Kanipe

Jane Kanipe has worked in the financial aid profession over 39 years and has extensive experience in higher education administration working with a variety of public and private colleges and universities and agencies.

As director of financial aid and assistant to the president at Peace College in Raleigh, NC for 24 years, she built the financial aid program within the institution to ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory standards and managed the integration of state programs, federal funding programs and internal institutional programs. She also served on the president’s senior executive team. Following her work with Peace College, Jane worked with Financial Aid Services (FAS) for four years consulting with ten institutions about a variety of financial aid management and federal and state compliance issues, including serving as interim director of financial aid. Most recently she has worked with the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority developing training programs for financial aid administrators within the state. Also, she provided leadership for the project development team in designing a service to educate borrowers about their student indebtedness.

Jane has been actively involved in the North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NCASFAA) serving on various committees and in leadership positions including NCASFAA president. She has also been involved with the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA) and the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) serving on the SASFAA Board of Directors and committees. Jane is the recipient of the NCASFAA Award of Merit in 2009.

Jane received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Meredith College and Master of Science degree from North Carolina State University.
