Sybil Smith

Sybil Smith is an accomplished Independent Consultant with more than 27 years of experience in financial aid compliance, systems, operations, and policy and procedure management. Her expertise spans verification, Return to Title IV (R2T4), reconciliation, packaging, and Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), as well as federal and state reporting, including FISAP, IPEDS, and eApps. She is proficient in leading platforms such as Banner, Colleague, and CampusLogic, enabling her to deliver efficient and effective solutions for institutional needs.
Throughout her career, Sybil has been recognized for her leadership and dedication to the financial aid community. She was selected as a trainer for the New Director Training program with the California Community College Chancellor’s Office, a role that highlights her depth of knowledge and commitment to advancing the profession. She has also collaborated extensively with departments such as Admissions, Registrar, Counseling, Veterans Services, IT, and Athletics to drive operational excellence and support student success.
In addition to her professional achievements, Sybil is an active member of NASFAA, CASFAA, and WASFAA, and serves on the Cal-Soap Governing Board. She resides in California, where she enjoys live music, comedy, exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and meeting new people.
