Joe Gilchrist is a veteran financial aid professional of over 30 years. He has administered financial aid for both two-year and four-year colleges, in the public and private institution setting. Joe joined Financial Aid Services (FAS) in 2017. His background includes previous higher education consulting in a variety of capacities. As a FAS consultant, he supports financial aid offices across the country. He provides Interim Staffing, Consulting and Assessment services to improve business processes, strengthen compliance efforts, and enhance student satisfaction.

For 21 years, Joe was directly involved in financial aid administration at Hodges University. He served a long tenure as director of financial aid. Later, he assumed the role of vice president of student services, providing oversight to the financial aid and business offices. He also served as the university’s VA certifying official for a number of years.

He is experienced with several financial aid and student information systems. Joe has exceptional experience with Ellucian Colleague. He has also used Ellucian Banner as well as the College Board’s PowerFAIDS.

Joe has been active in the Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (FASFAA), the Southern Association of Student Financial Administrators (SASFAA) and the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA).

Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts from Clemson University. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
