Deborah Gibbs

Deborah Gibbs has over 23 years of higher education experience at four-year private, four-year public, and community college institutions. As a consultant, Deborah provides Consulting and Assessment Services to support policy development, improve business processes, strengthen compliance efforts, enhance the student satisfaction/experience, and support financial management. Deborah is a proponent of strong collaboration among university partners. It is this collaboration that creates a supportive and unified environment to enhance the student experience, improve decision-making, and optimization of resources.
Deborah’s career began in the North Carolina Community College System holding positions as Cashier, Assistant to the Controller, and ADA Coordinator. Deborah left higher education to pursue an opportunity as Controller in private industry. Since her return to higher education, Deborah has held positions as Associate Director for Financial Management, Bursar/Treasurer, and University Bursar. Deborah currently serves as University Bursar for Campbell University where she is responsible for both Student Financial Services and Bursar’s Office. Deborah serves on the Risk and Compliance Committee, Bill Clearance Committee, Data Governance Committee, and several others.
Deborah is committed to knowledge sharing and colleague support to enhance student services, financial management, and Title IV compliance. Deborah has completed the NASFAA Cash Management course and received her credential. Deborah is proficient in reconciliations, development of policies and procedures, data analysis, and revenue forecasting.
Deborah is experienced with ERP software systems, including Ellucian Colleague and Banner. Deborah has experience with ERP system conversions and implementation of TouchNet eCommerce solutions.
Deborah earned an AAS in Accounting from Johnston Community College, BS in Business Administration from North Carolina Wesleyan College, and Master of Science in Accounting from Liberty University. She is a member of National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA).
