Sean Nevils, FAAC®, is an Independent Consultant with FAS and a nationally certified financial aid administrator with more than 25 years of experience in higher education. His career includes leadership and operational roles such as Assistant Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships at the University of Illinois Chicago, Financial Aid Specialist at Adler University, Student Financial Services professional at Columbia College Chicago, and Federal Loan Specialist with the U.S. Department of Education’s Direct Loan Program.
Sean’s focus areas include compliance, operations, and leadership, with specialized skills in verification, packaging, and satisfactory academic progress (SAP). He is proficient in federal and state regulatory processes and experienced in using multiple student information systems, including Banner, Colleague, and Jenzabar CX. He has also worked collaboratively with admissions, registrar, and academic advising departments to improve student outcomes.
Sean holds a B.S. in Business Management from National Louis University and is a NASFAA Accredited Certified Financial Aid Administrator®. He has also earned numerous NASFAA professional credentials, including Cash Management, Cost of Attendance, Need Analysis, Professional Judgment, Return of Title IV Funds, Student Eligibility, SAP, and Verification. He remains an active member of NASFAA and is committed to advancing excellence in financial aid through professional development and mentorship.
