Tim Jacobson, FAAC®

Consultant

Tim Jacobson has over 30 years of student financial aid experience in two-year public institutions and came to Financial Aid Services (FAS) in 2018. As a FAS consultant, he supports financial aid offices across the country and provides Interim Staffing, Consulting, and Assessment services to improve business processes, strengthen compliance efforts and enhance student satisfaction.

His experience includes working as a financial aid director at several institutions, including Madison College and Waukesha County Technical College. Early in his career, Tim worked as a financial aid coordinator at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Tim is experienced with several financial aid software systems, including Ellucian Banner, Oracle PeopleSoft, Ellucian Colleague, and the U.S. Department of Education’s suite of applications and websites for administering federal student aid.

Prior to earning the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators full NASFAA Certified Financial Aid Administrator® designation, Tim served as a NASFAA funds management trainer and student success coordinator, and on the Editorial Board of NASFAA’s Student Aid Transcript. He was the president and secretary of the Wisconsin Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (WASFAA), and served on various committees and projects for WASFAA and the Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA). He also participated on the Great Lakes Higher Education Advisory Council and the Wisconsin Higher Education Aids Board’s Commission on Financial Aid Consolidation and Modernization.

Since joining FAS, Tim has served as an interim director at Holyoke Community College, Mount Wachusett Community College, and Iowa Wesleyan College. In addition to his counseling duties at Xavier University of Louisiana, California State University – Long Beach, Community College of Philadelphia, and Arizona State University, Tim has served as a consultant for Howard University and East Stroudsburg University.

Tim received his Bachelor of Science in Business Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Master in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University.
