Dr. Wanda C. White
Consultant
Dr. Wanda White has over 35 years of student financial aid experience in both two-year and four-year public, and four-year private institutions. As a Financial Aid Services (FAS) consultant, Dr. White provides support to financial aid offices across the country. Also, she provides Consulting and Assessment services to improve business processes strengthen compliance efforts and enhance student satisfaction.
Dr. White’s previous experiences include serving as Director of Student Services and Director of Financial Aid & Student Success for the North Carolina Community College System. In these roles she served as a consultant to financial aid administrators working at the 58 community colleges in North Carolina. Her role consisted of administering community college state aid programs, and providing federal and state financial aid policy and technical guidance to financial aid and student service administrators. In addition, she provided professional development training to financial aid administrators. She is responsible for the development the NC Community College System Financial Aid Administrator’s Succession Plan and Leadership Academy. The Financial Aid Leadership Academy was developed to increase the number of qualified financial aid directors working in the North Carolina Community Colleges.
Prior to working with the NC Community College System, Dr. White served as Dean of Administrative Services at St. Augustine’s University, overseeing the offices of Financial Aid, Registrar and Admissions. Preceding this position, she served the University as Financial Aid Director. She also served as Director of Financial Aid at Livingstone College. Her financial aid experience includes serving as Assistant Director of Financial Aid at NC State University and Shaw University. She has served previously as consultant to private and public universities.
Dr. White is actively involved in the state and regional financial aid associations. Her previous experiences also include serving as President of the NC Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NCASFAA), Chairperson, Support Staff training, and Conference Chair. In addition she has served on the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrator’s (SASFAA) Executive Board. She is experienced with several financial aid software systems, including Ellucian, Banner, College Board PowerFAIDS and the U.S. Department of Education’s suite of applications and website for administering Federal Student Aid.
Dr. White holds a Doctorate of Education degree in Community College Executive Leadership and Education Specialist degree from Wingate University, Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Economics from Shaw University.
