Joe Gilchrist is a veteran financial aid professional of over 30 years. He has administered financial aid for both two-year and four-year colleges, in the public and private institution setting. Joe joined FAS in 2017. His background included previous higher education consulting in a variety of capacities. As a FAS consultant, he supports financial aid offices across the country. He provides Interim Staffing, Consulting and Assessment services to improve business processes, strengthen compliance efforts, and enhance student satisfaction.
For 21 years, Joe was directly involved in financial aid administration at Hodges University. He served a long tenure as Director of Financial Aid. Later, he assumed the role of Vice President of Student Financial Services, providing oversight to the financial aid and business offices. He also served as the University’s VA Certifying Official for a number of years.
He is experienced with several financial aid and student information systems. Joe has exceptional experience with Ellucian Colleague. He has also used Ellucian Banner as well as the College Board’s PowerFAIDS.
Joe has seen active in the Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (FASFAA), the Southern Association of Student Financial Administrators (SASFAA) and the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA).
Gilchrist holds a Bachelor of Arts from Clemson University. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
