Dotti Davidson was drawn into the financial aid profession like most, employed as a federal work study student. With over 20 years of experience, she still finds fulfillment in serving as a financial aid administrator and appreciates the role’s rewards as well as its challenges.

She worked in the four-year private, non-profit sector. She was employed at Regent University for 19 years, hired initially as a financial aid counselor and eventually promoted to director of financial aid. She understands the mounting demands on financial aid offices to help institutions remain compliant with statute and regulations, but also generate enrollment and cash flow. Most recently, she held the role of director of university financial aid compliance. In this role, she delved deeply into the regulatory requirements of consumer information, athletics, and Title IX programs. These represent some of the most complex, institution-wide compliance initiatives.

Dotti is experienced primarily with the Ellucian Banner system and the U.S. Department of Education’s suite of applications and websites for administering federal student aid.

Dotti is an active member of the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (VASFAA) and the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA). She has been on numerous committees for both associations and also presented at the state and regional conferences. For two years, she served as an instructor at SASFAA’s nationally-recognized New Aid Officers Training.

Dotti received her Bachelor of Science from Humphreys College and Master of Business Administration from Regent University.

FAS really has top-notch people. They are very professional and easy to deal with. It’s an organization I can trust and be assured that whatever they do or advise will be accepted by the DOE as being true and compliant."
