Financial Aid Services is seeking financial aid professionals to fill interim management, counseling and processing positions. Our consultants serve as interim professional staff in college and university financial aid offices. In a consulting capacity, they provide project management, assessments and analyses of all aspects in a financial aid office, guidance to optimize technology use, and direction to respond to audits and reviews. Relocation is not mandatory. However, extensive travel is required as is a valid U.S. Driver’s License.

The successful applicants will have:

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Title IV programs
  • The ability to work in diverse and complex environments with campus staff at all levels
  • Management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently or as members of administrative teams
  • A functional knowledge of automated financial aid management systems is required. Proficiency in the use of The College Board’s PowerFAIDS, Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Colleague, Oracle PeopleSoft, Jenzabar and/or CAMS.

FAS consultants are seasoned, financial aid administrators. Prior professional experience, of no less than 10 years at the associate director and/or director level, is required to serve in leadership positions. A bachelor’s degree is required and an advance degree is highly desirable. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Strongest preference will be given to those with recent financial aid experience at a public, or private nonprofit, institution.

Financial Aid Specialist

Financial Aid Services is seeking a full-time financial aid specialist.  This position is based in the Atlanta processing center.


  • Assist in the review and verification of the FAFSA results and supporting documents for accuracy and conflicting information utilizing the verification tools provided by FAS systems
  • Determine Title IV eligibility including awarding of aid and determining Pell Grant amounts
  • Calculation of Return to Title IV
  • Reconciliation of Title IV aid
  • Perform quality assurance of work completed
  • Assist in training staff on file verification reviews and client processes
  • Other duties as assigned

Applicant Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will be skilled financial aid administrators with a minimum of two years of financial aid experience at the counselor-level or higher. 

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • A comprehensive knowledge of Title IV programs
  • Proficiency with one of the commonly-used financial aid management systems (such as Banner, Colleague, PeopleSoft or PowerFaids)
  • Undergraduate degree
