Carlos R. Clark, PhD
Dr. Carlos R. Clark has over 29 years of student financial aid experience in both two-year and four-year public as well as four-year private institutions. Dr. Clark came to FAS in 2022. As a consultant, he supports financial aid offices across the country. He provides Interim Staffing, Consulting and Assessment services to improve business processes, strengthen compliance efforts, and enhance student satisfaction.
His previous experience includes roles as director of financial aid, associate vice president for enrollment management, vice president for student affairs, provost and vice president for academic affairs, and president at several institutions.
Dr. Clark is experienced with several financial aid software systems, including Ellucian Banner, Oracle PeopleSoft, Ellucian Colleague, College Board PowerFAIDS, Jenzabar EX, CAMS, and the U.S. Department of Education’s suite of applications and website for administering Federal Student Aid.
Dr. Clark has been active on many of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) committees. He was also Vice President of the Alabama Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (AASFAA). He has made countless presentations at NASFAA, SASFAA, SWASFAA, TASFAA, NMASFAA, AASFAA, and other state conferences over the years.
Dr. Clark received his Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration, and Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration, all from The University of Mississippi. He has also received a Certificate of Completion from Harvard University’s Management Development Program (MDP).
